 Coaches morning session: 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with Dr. John Dahlem.

·          You want to be a wrestling coach! Why?

·          Establish your goals

·          How to develop a “Wrestling Program” and what type of program do you want?

·          What is your team going to be known for?

·          How to treat your athletes

·          Motivation….. be a “teacher” Are you doing what you ask your athletes to do ? Excuses?

·          How to recruit wrestlers

·          How to deal with administration/other sports

·          How to build a parent program or a booster’s club

·          How to raise money

·          How to get organized…start with pretending you are going to an interview for the position of a wrestling coach

·          Recruitment of staff… “not all of them like you”!

Session one technique: 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with counselor 2010 NCAA Champion Kyle Dake

 Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 Session two technique: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

 Coaches afternoon session: 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

·          What is your fundamental wrestling philosophy?

·          Plan your year out… what will you teach?

·          Typical lesson plan for practice

·          Drills… “wrestling specific”

·          Visit other “programs”

·          Take notes at matches…incorporate those notes…history of matches

·          Question and answer period  

Session three technique: review and live wrestling 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Dinner: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Session four technique: 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

*The Coaches Clinic includes: 2 coaches sessions with Dr. John Dahlem, 4 technique session’s with 2010 NCAA CHAMPION KYLE DAKE, lunch and dinner! Bring your wrestling shoes and get on the mat!
